money indicator position (on left) is really bad to see, probably center on screen

the description of item to buy , is very confused on right side on screen, probably a popup/modal window

when get armor item, i guess a small animation / particle is better , I miss the VFX in the game, but is a good execution

Does not work with WIne or Steam Proton on Linux (Mouse doesn't register correctly). Play the web version.

This is just a creative game. Gives inscription vibes. A unique random element to a ttrpg rogue lite. Even if it is gambling.

I oneshotted a boss or miniboss dealing like 114 damage and the game bugged, I also losed the run by trying to log in itch io, nice game i like it

THIS ONE DUDE KEEPS SHIELDING

This game looks really good! The visual style is clear and works well, and the core idea is immediately readable. The gameplay loop is simple in the right way and quickly becomes addictive, which is not an easy thing to pull off.

That said, there are still some rough edges. In the later stages of the game the turns take too long to resolve. I ran into a few bugs, and the balance needs another pass. Once you get going, the difficulty curve flattens out hard. When level 20 can be cleared in the first round without taking a single hit, the game starts to feel routine rather than tense.

Overall, it’s a really strong concept with a solid foundation. With some bug fixing and tighter balancing to keep the challenge alive longer, this could easily turn into a genuinely fun and memorable game.

Absolute bangers, never let anyone tell when u need to stop gambling, not even yourself (yea i really need a pause button)

needs some polishing but is really really addictive, well done

so good but please DO NOT limit the ammount of money to 150 golds, I could have hit 180 golds in one round man !

(+1)(-1)

if it wasnt limited then the yellow balls would be too insane.

you could 100x your money each spin

Such a great game but some bugs

(+2)

Why is the all-green, all-attack  build so nice? Because mobs die in 1 hit, bosses in 3  hits and once the wave is cleared the balls left in attack tiles will just insta pop = fast waves
...and No the glitches I triggered dont help the gameplay at all

you need to upgrade ur max hp before doing it so its a little bit complicated

(+1)

very sweet gameplay loop and I really dig the style

(+1)

needs either a skip button or speed multiplier, either ways Great game

(+3)

Cool game. Have to ask, though, any chance of a Linux build?

realy cool  game

(+2)

I think this is where I'll stop. My poor laptop needs a break from overheating, and there is no "pause" feature that would allow me to stop and come back later.

My Max HP:  4,745

My Max ARM: 3,495

My Max Damage: 6,873 aka (4745/20)*29

Some important notes/advice I can give after spending far too much time on this browser game (as of writing this message):

-The max level of coin you can hold at once is $150, and the max multiplier from the gold ball is 11 (11*Whatever Slot)

-Always put the widest slots in the middle to increase the odds of a critical. You must aim to get as many of the crits as possible, as if you don't, the enemies will overpower you faster than you can upgrade

-Balls that do not land in the wheel are not counted, and will return to their place in the tube once the turn is over

-There is no max HP or max ARM limit, or if there is, it is far beyond a reasonable playthrough... or my device strength

-The balls take effect (from the tube to the wheel) in order of right to left, and will not change in order

-If you still have balls in the wheel when the wave is won, the game will cycle through their effects. If you have enough balls, you can wait out the timer for a wave to transition into the shop. While in the shop, any (non-damaging) effects from the balls will carry into the next wave {I suspect this to be patched in a possible future update, but considering how finnicky the requirements for this "glitch" are, and how far late into the game you have to be to achieve this properly, I think its a worthy edition}

-The green HP multiplier ball is, as of writing this, the only way to increase the max damage ceiling beyond an 11 multiplier. I cannot overstate how useful this strategy is once you reach a high enough HP total

love this game! make it longer!!!

(+1)

I think this is about as good as it gets. The only improvement I can think of is having farmed max health a little longer.

Also found a bug where double clicking the lever to exit the shop creates a set of 'ghost' enemies and dice, overlaying both the shop and combat, as presented in the screenshot.

Extremely good game, well done!

good game!

Very very good game, crazy potential for additions. Would totally be worth 5$ if you wanted to charge.

Nice little cozy game. I decided to give up once I hit wave 110 and had all gold balls, 2860 health, and 2320 max shield. Still had a few shields that weren't at full 20, but it wasn't making that much of a difference.

I do recommend revisiting the layout and UI.  The coins on the left and the store descriptions on the right get cut off, and all the text is uncomfortably small, especially the health and armor readout.

I'd also strongly recommend a way to skip animations, say with a tap of the space bar, or a way to accelerate the animations. Once you get 15 balls going, it becomes a bit of a slog to wait for things.

There also seems to be a bug when you complete the game and go into endless mode – the registration of where the panels on the wheel are get offset (I think it's because the wheel is set to turning when you win), and you have to re-set the panels in the wheel manually to get them back into place.

Anyway, clever little design. Enjoyed it.

OMG if you put all attack tiles and replace to all green balls at this point you would probably be spinning way past wave 1000...

Once the wave is beat the balls in attack tiles are skipped over if I remember correctly. ;)

Now that I see your setup, I want to play again. :)

The hard part would be getting to that from this point, because green balls fired by the bishop do not gain the damage multiplier bonus for some reason, so I'd be downgrading while working up to that. Green balls are like plain balls if you don't have any actual attack panels.

I was thinking about just going all-in on healing only (with no other panel types) paired with the bishop to see how it goes, making every panel eligible for a crit. It might work because with all panels healing, you'd likely gain ~40 max HP and heal ~336 HP per spin (before any multipliers from the balls).

awesome game, this game shoud be in real hazard game

This is an awesome game! I love it and would totally play this when it's completed. It has been a few days since I played it but if I remember correctly there is an endless mode. I loved it all!

Wishing you the best of luck,

a little bit too buggy, but awesome!

O wow, i like this! I’m going to play it then this out.

Fun little game. Needs more content and balancing. The ball that multiplies for every $15 + several money pieces is way too overpowered right now.

(+1)(-1)

no it's not really. you need a strat for it and it's not the best endgame ball

(-1)

Not the best "endgame" ball? What nonsense. I finished it on my first run and I got 4 of them. It's without a doubt overpowered. It easily gives you the max amount of money (150) - I got it three or four times. Then you just buy whatever else you need.

(-1)

crit health + green ball = 500+ damage easily

(-1)

This doesn't in any way address any of my points... What are you even trying to argue? That since the green ball is really good or overpowered another ball in the game can't be? I don't know why you're trying to argue against something that has literally 0 downsides and scales crazy fast. Oh, wait, I do.. because you're not good at the game.

Hi I played until lvl 60+,
the goldball is very strong as is the green ball. You kind of need many green balls to even get the chance to buy more gold balls later on as the max amount of gold is 150 and each goldball will cost 130 so the next round your gold balls will be very weak.
Ultimately the green ball is the strongest as the Max HP keeps rising.

Both balls are just OP to be honest but I love the concept of the game anyway. Getting more damage from rising my HP and strategizing over when to risk to replace another ball was very fun.

(+1)

It's great to see you folks engaging so much with the strategy of the game! In all honesty, it's not very balanced, it was made for a game jam. We're glad that you've all had such a good time but please try to keep discussions respectful :)

(2 edits)

and if you scroll down there's people at level 100+ that are using the green ball with insane health. one guy has a screenshot of being on round 528.

(+4)

small bug

(+1)

Had a lot of fun with it, i think this could definitely a cool full game.
I would love to see an auto-roulette feature as well as an option to change the speed of the game (1.5X or even 2X). Some passive bonuses / abilities for the character would be cool as well.

Can't wait to see more!!

(+2)

A ton of potential here. Definitely a strong proof of concept/early alpha.

Would love to see meta progression and more variety in the future.

Two things of note:

1) There's no settings, which means I can't turn the sound off. That's a huge dealbreaker. I want to be able to silence lightweight games like this so I can chat with people while I play them.

2) I had the game reset on me while I alt-tabbed to another window.

(-1)

Remember that Windows audio mixer exists. :)

Eh, true. Still a major oversight though.

Great game, got stuck getting infinite shield and shield max while the enemy was getting more shield than my attack, would love some tiles that doesn't have anything but are environmental like a speed up tile or a ramp tile

This is an excellent game. I want to play hours of this, choice of characters, progression.... Really well done

Awesome game, great synergies and many possible builds. Also bishop totem should synergize with the lifesteal balls.

Gambling is fun! I'm gonna do it every day forever now!

(+3)

really fun game but a bit too easy, could really use more complex abilities and powers but I'd be very excited to see a full release!

(+1)

Very fun and simple ! Love it.

2nd playthrough and I'm gonna say I beat the game. Haven't been injured by an opponent in about 60-70 rounds.

How the hell do you upgrade the amount of health you have?

(+1)

Make a line of 3 or more green tiles. If a ball lands in a non-end tile, there's a chance to increase max HP by 5. Same with blue armor tiles. He probably farmed for cash, farmed for the best attack tiles, and once he maxed out his cash, converted all his tiles to attack tiles.

(+1)

The biggest trick was only buying the yellow balls that multiply with every 15 gold. They are absolutely broken.

wonderful game!

Really nice and fun game !

Nice game!! roulette + rpg Love it

(+3)(-1)

When the game is so good you gotta make an account to comment about it LMAOO, but like the game is SO good!!! I loved it!! and I'd love to see what becomes of it in the future! something that I'd personally wana see is some sort of way to make the wheel bigger, I think it would just make managing the odds even more rewarding but I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun over such a small game!

(+1)

Loved this game. Managing the odds is wildly entertaining, especially when you go above Wave 15. My highest right now is wave 20. If you're not killing 2/3 of the enemy in your first round, it's over for you beyond wave 15. Endless mode could easy cause me to burn hours of time.
